The Clean Girl aesthetic is the new beauty trend that many enthusiasts are taking full advantage of this year! The concept is to create a clean, soft, natural look while still doing a full makeup routine. It’s basically the new “No-Makeup Makeup”, except it includes using a minimal amount of products, usually from brands that are clean and sustainable.
The look itself is easily achievable with just a handful of simple products. Below are some of the faves in my arsenal that I use on a daily basis to help me achieve this look!
This SPH is my absolute favorite! Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte has a beautifully radiant finish without having too much shimmer. The consistency is thin and smooth, and it will leave your skin glowing with or without makeup. It also contains SPF 30, making it ideal for everyday use! I use it as a base after my primer to help my foundation or concealer have a clean, glowing finish that wont streak or separate.
Milk’s Hydro Grip Primer is a fantastic choice if you are looking for something that is going to make your makeup stick without the sticky feeling! This primer is hydrating for your skin and will grip onto your foundation or concealer for hours. I personally will put this primer under my SPF to help my sunscreen last longer, and I will use it with our without foundation!
Milk’s Contour Stick is at the very top of my list when it comes to contouring! The formula is soft and super easy to blend with a sponge, brush, or even with your fingers. It has a cool undertone to give you that perfect contoured shadow without it looking ashy or too dark. Depending on your preference and application, you can use this either over or under your foundation/concealer. Additionally, its perfect for accomplishing a naturally bronzed eye look, just apply a little but to your lid with your fingertips! I personally prefer to apply this before my concealer, and use my concealer to clean up the contour.
Milk’s Lip And Cheek Tint is so convenient when it comes to making sure that your lip and cheek color compliment each other well! This product is so easy to use because a little goes a long way, so you’re able to start small and really customize how bold you want your color to be. Like the contouring stick, it also looks great on the eyelid. I personally prefer to apply it with a small blending brush onto my cheeks, but it worked great with a sponge or your fingertips!
What makes Rare Beauty so great is their focus not only on beauty, but mental health as well! You can tell how much care and consideration goes into their products simply by how effortlessly their products apply to the skin. This brand is clean and sustainable, and the formulation of this concealer is so lightweight! The best part is you’re able to build up to a fuller coverage without having a cakey finish. I typically use this product without foundation to give me a natural, clean girl look!
Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Bronzer has been apart of my makeup routine for years now! This bronzer is so great for a number a reasons. First, the Amazonian Clay helps to control oil and shine, so you can be bronzed and radiant without looking too wet. Next, it is very light in coverage, making it perfect for using for either an everyday look or bold glam. Finally, this shade will compliment every skin tone! It doesn’t pull too orange, so you’re able to have a sun kissed glow that will blend beautifully with your makeup routine.
When I say I’m addicted to Dior’s Lip Addict Plumping Lip Gloss, I mean it! This is one of my absolute favorite glosses because it is so versatile with virtually any liner color! Their color “Rosewood” compliments every skin tone, and it perfect for creating a natural or bold lip combo for your clean girl aesthetic. Additionally, it uses Hyaluronic Acid to plump the lips and give them a nice, pillow soft feel without the burning sensation.
The best part about the Clean Girl Aesthetic is the versatility! This look is great for everyone, whether you prefer a full face or barely there look. The point of this minimalistic routine is to give you a fresh, subtle look that you can adjust to your liking.
